Enabling access to a local USB printer from a terminal server can be setup through the standard print queue redirection built into the remote desktop protocol by enabling the option in the remote desktop connection client. There may also be a requirement to install the printer drivers for the printer onto the terminal server if the print redirection does not work automatically. Your IT support can complete this for you.
The terminal server will then create a redirected print queue and enable the users to print to the local printer from within the terminal server session.
From the remote desktop connection client click on the show options, then select the local resources tab and under local devices and resources option select printers. Then go back to the general tab and click save to save the settings.
We offer a sense of partnership that goes beyond the typical IT experience. Our value starts where the scope of a traditional managed service ends.
We’re not just another faceless IT company. We are all about old school professionalism, which means rather than hiding behind our screens, we’d like to meet you face to face (or virtually if required!).
Let’s organise an initial in-person or online meeting to scope if we’d be a good fit for you.
